Early Beginnings of the Digital Maker Collective captured in new book 'The Creative Stance'
Publication: ‘The Creative Stance’
On 13 May 2015 the seed was planted for the Digital Maker Collective when we hosted the Chelsea Jam 2015 event, this was the beginning of our journey. Since then, each event the Digital Maker Collective takes on raises the bar to a new level, from the Digital Maker Week to the Mozilla Festival in 2016 and now preparing for the Tate Exchange events in Feb/March 2017.
So its fantastic to see the early beginnings of the Digital Maker Collective featured in new book ‘The Creative Stance’ (p35), which has been released to coincide with UAL 30 Years On – a year of events and activity marking three decades since the London Institute, now UAL, formed to save London’s prestigious art and design colleges.
The Digital Maker Collective are in good company, featured along side writings from leading artist & designers and featured in the chapter entitled 'RIGOUR':
"This initiative exemplifies a new definition
of 'rigour' in creative practice"
What does it mean to be ‘creative’? What’s the point of a creative education? What happens at art school? It is essential reading for the first-time art student, the entrepreneur, and anyone who has ever felt the need to create.
